Updated RDFT Specification

I've just uploaded the latest RDFT specification which incorporates the alterations I've been discussing over the past few days, including:

  • Source Scope — a new scope that makes the NodePath apply only to the original source graph without the RDFS closure rules.
  • Label Function — a new function that returns the current node's label.
  • Data Model — some clarification of the data model.
  • Subject Specifier — a node specifier that matches only resources that are the subject of a triple.

Also uploaded is the latest version of the RDFT reference implementation: phpRDFT which implements all the features described in the latest specification.

  1. Hi Ian,
It's looking really good. I've not visited for a while, and read some of your earlier posts first, and was amazed that you were including the statements implied by the closure rules ("making a rod for his back there" thinks I). So for what it's worth, I wouldn't expect anything beyond source scope to be provided (unless you really want to ;-)

  2. Hi Danny
Thanks for the comments. I think the RDFS closure rules are essential for future SW applications. There aren't any simpel tools out there that implement them so it'd be good to get some implementation experience and look at any optimisations that we can make to speed the whole thing up. Hopefully the source scope specifier will give us the best of bth worlds.
